“Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and life to everything.”
At Bailieborough Community School we believe that we are dedicated to the pursuit of excellence. We foster an inclusive climate of learning where all students are encouraged to reach their full potential in Music and to enjoy the subject. All students are encouraged to perform in Extra Curricular activities enhancing their personal growth and development.
Music is offered at Junior and Leaving Certificate levels. A Music module is offered to all Transition year students and was part of the L.C.A Arts Education programme. The key concepts covered are Performance, Listening and Composing.
In the Music department we use a number of different methodologies such as sound before symbol, group and pair work, research, discussion, Youtube, and trips to concerts to meet our students needs. This leads to students mastering the following key skills of Performance, Listening, and Composing.
